One more month

I finished an other movie today and watching it makes me really sad.
Just seeing all of the cool stuff I did the last month and realising that I am leaving soon.
Still have an awesome time and try to do my best.

Surfboard

One of my dreams came true.

I got my first own Surfboard shaped by Paul Shanks and I was able to design it.

It took nearly 3 weeks and now I just have to wait until next week when there are waves to surf.
It feels so good seeing your own board getting shaped and you can watch the hole process from polystrene to a perfect light board.
Its a 6.3 but really wide which fits good to my surfing skills.
This weekend I am going to Wellington and my school was finished two days ago.

Update

Much time has passed since the last post and I had a lot of adventures.
The first two weeks of the month were holidays and my mate and me were really unlucky because we had nearly no waves for these two weeks.

During the holidays:

On the first weekend Matt, Brendon and Me made a night hunt and I shot my first possum.

In the holidays the waves were really small but nevertheless Til and Me made the best of our time. Sometimes we just took longboars and tried tricks or we went to the wharf one time and jumped in the water.

The week after Tils host family invited me to a trip to the pinacles which was pretty cool and the day after we went fishing in the Coromandel and I catched two Snappers which I had for dinner then.

In the moment I have a really amazing project but I will tell more about it on the weekend.

Skitrip

Last week I went to a skitrip with year 12 and to be honest it was such a good time.
I still feel a little bit overwhelmed.
The skitrip started on sunday morning with a long drive to Mt. Ruhapeu, one of three or four vulcanos and biggest mountains with 2500 m on the Northisland.
We stayed in a lodge on the mountain which was pretty awesome cause we could ski to it every day and it felt snugly ;)
One day there was a Laha warning which is like a hot mud avalanche coming from the top but it was only for practice.
We had three amazing sunny days but the last two days were dotchy and foggy and so i tried Snowboarding for my first time which was so good.
I did not expect that it works so good for my first time.

In addition to this I had beautiful waves today and i went surfing with my mates and tomorrow
I am going to get up at 5:30am to surf with my buddy before school.

Bad News

Today I realised something really bad.
I am really addicted.
Addicted to surfing.
The last good waves were last week and I am going mental when there are not good waves tomorrow
;D.

Successful Day

Today I had a really nice day.
I ran 21km in 1h and 46/47 min which is a new personal record
and I had a lot of fun taking some pictures with my host siblings.

Ball

This was a very cool and exciting weekend.
On friday evening  I played pool with some mates which was pretty good and
yesterday was the Whangamata Senior Ball.
It was such a good night.
The ball started at 7:30pm and ended at 10:30pm.
But before we went to the ball we had some dinner at the house of my homesister's friend and took a lot of photos.
After that we went to the afterball which was at the house of my mate and we stayed there until 3:00am in the morning.
It was a perfect spot for a party. There was a camp fire,  a dancingroom and
everybody brought his own drinks so we had a lot of fun. 

Offshore

The last two days were perfect for my surfing.
The waves were pretty small, but they were very very clean and good to surf.
Yesterday I went surfing on my own and suddenly I saw something black only a few meters away diving under the water. First I was a little bit afraid and I was like "Henrik don't move now,
it might be a shark", but then I realised that it was only a seal which played in the water.
Today I went surfing in Outdoor Education and it was so much fun.
We tried to surf partywaves which means that many people surf the same wave and it worked a couple of times.
In the afternoon I went surfing with  Matt and I got barreld for two seconds which was pretty cool.

This weekend I am going to Napier and there I will buy a suit for a ball, which is in one week, some hunting gear and maybe I can drive a Quad there, too.
In addition to this I am going to start training for a halfmarathon.

What happened

Before I start to talk about what happened the last days I just want to apologise that I wrote nothing for a long time....
I was very busy the last days....
First of all I joined a gym and I founded a band with two other guys for a talent show which is in next month. I play the drums.
On monday I was kayaking during Outdoor Education for the first time and I got badly smashed by a wave.
Today I made a daytramp trough the bush which was also with the OE group.
It was an amazing trip and a beautiful day.
Last weekend I went surfing for four hours and I think it is getting better and better.
After that I went to a farm looking after the horses which belong to my hostfamily.
The farm is in a beautiful valley and on the top of a hill Matt ,my hostbro, saw some goats.
He stalked them for a long time and at the next day my hostdad Brendon talked to the farmer and the farmer said that one goat has got a broken leg and so we gonna shoot this goat this weekend.

Amazing Weekend

I had a lot of fun and experinces at this weekend.
On Saturday I went with Constantin a other German exchange student to Onemana to make some cool photos of Whangamata.
It was a very long mountainbike trip and we decided to cross the habour which was quite shorter and it was low tide.
It was a very bad desicion we had made. The water was to deep.
But we were lucky cause a man saw us and came with his boat to help us.
On Sunday I went to Doughnut Island with my homestaybro Matthew by a kayak.
It is the most beautiful place I have ever been.
I cannot describe it.
Everything is quiet. Your are alone. The entrance is like a laguna.
You are surrounded by trees and rocks. Just beautiful.
The only thing which is annoying is that a case, which is normaly waterproof, failed and my phone is broken now.
I hope I can it fix as fast as I can.
 

 

Good Feeling

Its my second week here in Whangamata and I feel more and more like at home.
On Monday und Thursday I playing soccer and I am so happy about it.
I try to go surfing every day and I have just a good feeling.

Whangamata Area School

First Week

This was a very good first week at school.
I met a lot of nice new guys and had a lot of fun.
This week I wanted to go mountainbiking,but I missed the group two times :o
Nevertheless I really enjoyed my first week and maybe tomorrow I will go surfing, when the waves are good enough.

Kia Ora

The last days were amazing....
After leaving Auckland I met my homestayfamily, that is so nice, in Whangamata.

I totally feel comfortable.
Yesterday I bouhgt my schooluniform with
my homestaymom Sheridan and today I was hunting with
homestaydad Brendon, Matthew, Richard and other nice guys.
It was so much fun.
Tomorrow we are going to pick up Kelsey(homestaysister) from Auckland Airport.

Auckland

Hey guys,

after a lot of cordial leave-takings
and a relaxed flight with a long but interesting stay 
in Singapore, I finally reached Auckland Airport at 10am this morning.
Our travelgroup was picked up by a nice
bus driver there and we made a little trip through Auckland.


Tonight I am in a hotel in Auckland and tomorrow I will
be brought to my host family.
I really looking forward meeting them.
